Who doesn’t likes surprises? Recently, I was in for a surprise when a Feature Writer from Better Photography magazine messaged me. It was for acquiring permission to publish my one of my photograph in their upcoming issue.
Naturally, who the hell would decline such a lucrative offer considering such a reputed magazine approaches on its own. Its a big honour for me as I never dreamt about such a thing so early in my photography career. The excitement here is much bigger than when a photograph you send for critique or for other purpose gets published. I sent the photograph & here it is published in the Better Photography August 2011 issue.(If you’ve the magazine, checkout page no.53 of BP August 2011 issue)

It feels highly motivated & the self-confidence sky rockets even more considering I’m able to produce great photographs with my limited equipment. Only I know how much efforts were gone into making this particular shot. It feels just awesome considering my photographs have never been published in any photography magazine. It was a good move from the Better Photography team & I hope they continue to showcase good work of other less renowned/small/non-professional photographers. This will not only boost their confidence but also help them gain some exposure. Now my next goal would be to get published again, again & yet again! 🙂
Congrats !!
