I did it, I successfully & honestly completed the 365 Project yet again for the second year on the trot. For those unaware, I had successfully completed 365 Project in my debut year(2012) & then resumed it in coming year 2013. Now as 2013 is done & dusted, so is my 365 Project for the year 2013.
Compared to 2012, 2013 – 365 Project went really smooth. Yes, there were days of mediocre photographs but thankfully they were few. Keeping the camera along always has helped me get good photographs & there have been days when I’ve been spoil for choice as to which one to upload. Its a problem of plenty & good to have. I’m grateful to all those souls who patiently waited for their meal as I was taking the food photograph at the restaurant, to the people who gave me their best as they faced the camera for my portrait, to those who supported me & my project even in difficult times. I further feel proud to know that I’ve inspired people to take up the 365 Project. There is no bigger joy than this. It keeps me going!
Surely, 2014 will present challenges of its own. Life is only going to get busier as responsibilities increase for me. However, once again I’ve begun with my 365 Project for the year 2014. Let’s see how I fare this time. Just a photo each day – simple as it sounds but having completed two years(and taken an oath not to repeat same photographs) will definitely make the project challenging. It would be great to have your support this time too. The place remains the same. Thank you.
I renewed my subscription of Better Photography(BP) magazine yesterday & the BP team member instantly handed me the copy of this month. I placed the copy in my bag & went through my day. In evening as I was waiting for my turn at the dentist, I pulled out the magazine & began flipping. To my uttermost surprise, it had a picture from me in the critique section of the magazine.
This picture was taken by me in
2009 2011 with my compact camera Canon Powershot SX100 IS. I had mailed it to BP somewhere in 2010 May 2011 & it got published in October 2013. It bought a good long smile across my lips. As they say, “better late than never”. If you’ve bought the magazine this month, do check out page no.102 for my photograph in full glory.

Who doesn’t likes surprises? Recently, I was in for a surprise when a Feature Writer from Better Photography magazine messaged me. It was for acquiring permission to publish my one of my photograph in their upcoming issue.
Naturally, who the hell would decline such a lucrative offer considering such a reputed magazine approaches on its own. Its a big honour for me as I never dreamt about such a thing so early in my photography career. The excitement here is much bigger than when a photograph you send for critique or for other purpose gets published. I sent the photograph & here it is published in the Better Photography August 2011 issue.(If you’ve the magazine, checkout page no.53 of BP August 2011 issue)
It feels highly motivated & the self-confidence sky rockets even more considering I’m able to produce great photographs with my limited equipment. Only I know how much efforts were gone into making this particular shot. It feels just awesome considering my photographs have never been published in any photography magazine. It was a good move from the Better Photography team & I hope they continue to showcase good work of other less renowned/small/non-professional photographers. This will not only boost their confidence but also help them gain some exposure. Now my next goal would be to get published again, again & yet again! :)
