Try keeping the inbuilt flash in TTL mode(default mode) & use Flash Exposure Compensation of -1 or -2. Also note, the optical slave on simpex 522 won’t work in bright outdoor light. Its a limitation of optical slave system.

Fortunately I just found out that in S1 it is syncing but only in 1/128, 1/64, 1/32 and 1/16 power in wireless slave mode. In higher powers it is not syncing.
